What is YYC Beeswax?
YYC Beeswax is a beeswax candle and workshop business offering handcrafted beeswax products and hands-on creative experiences located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Where are you located?
We are located in SE Calgary and serve customers locally and online. We can occasionally be found at markets across Western Canada.
Will you be at a market near me?
All of our confirmed markets are on our calendar. Take a look to see where we’ll be in the near future! As new markets are confirmed, we will add them to the calendar. If you don’t see any markets listed, we haven’t scheduled any in the near future.
What are your hours?
We do not have regular business hours, but you are welcome to schedule an appointment if you’d like to visit us in person. We also have open houses throughout the year, so keep an eye on our upcoming events
We are happy to accept orders to ship or for local pickup. We have an outdoor secured box available 24/7 at our headquarters in SE Calgary (unless your order is temperature sensitive such as beeswax sheets during the winter!). Once your order is ready for pickup, we will place your order in our secured box and email you the full details on how to access it (including the address!) or provide options for pickup (beeswax sheets in the winter).
Products and Ordering
Can I pick up my order instead of getting it shipped?
Yes! Please place your order online and choose the ‘Local Pickup’ option at checkout. We will email you when your order is ready for pickup at our headquarters in SE Calgary (24/7 in our secured outdoor box).
Where can I pick up my order?
You are welcome to pick your order up at our headquarters in SE Calgary (at our 24/7 outdoor secured box). We will give you the exact address when your order is ready for pickup.
If I place my order now, can I pick it up today?
The short answer is it depends. Many of our products are made to order and in most cases it will take a day or two minimum for us to get your order finished. On top of that, our workshop is on the other side of the city, so we often have to plan in advance to get there! Occasionally, we’re able to do same day orders if you catch us at the right time in the right place (this doesn’t happen often!). Planning to give us at least a few days is best! If you do catch us at the right time to do a same day order, it will usually be available for pickup late evening (after 8 or 9pm).
Can I order ___lbs/oz/g/kg of beeswax?
Yes! The easiest way for us to get your wax to you is by placing an order online. You can find all of our beeswax here.
Do you sell beeswax pellets/pastilles?
Yes! We carry them in white or yellow beeswax. If you need something a bit bigger, try our 0.3 oz blocks.
Do you sell beeswax and candle-making supplies?
Yes! YYC Beeswax carries beeswax sheets, blocks, pellets/pastilles, wicks, DIY kits, and other supplies perfect for making beeswax candles. These are available online for shipping or local pickup.
I placed an order. Now what?
If you’ve chosen to have your order shipped, we will ship it as soon as it’s ready and add a tracking number to your order.
If you’ve chosen the Local Pickup option, we will send you an email when your order is ready. If it’s been a few days and you haven’t seen any notification, try checking your junk folder for emails or checking which orders we are currently filling (you can find this on the banner at the bottom of nearly every page of the website).
Has my order shipped? Where’s the tracking information?
Your order will be marked as complete when your order is shipped. You can find your tracking number in the order details (sign in to your account to access this) or on our tracking page. You will also receive an email with tracking information (check your junk folder too in case it ends up there!)
Where is my order confirmation email?
Order confirmations are sent out immediately on successful payment. If you don’t see the confirmation arrive in your inbox, be sure to check your junk folder as well. If you still don’t see it, contact us and we can help you out!
Workshops and Experiences
Does YYC Beeswax offer candle making workshops?
Yes! We offer interactive beeswax candle making workshops that are beginner-friendly and educational. Our workshops include rolled candles, teacup candles, mason jar candles, mini dipped candles, luminaries, massage candles, and more. We have public and private workshop options.
Who are your workshops suitable for?
Our workshops are great for adults, teens, and families. Younger children are welcome with supervision, and we’re happy to adapt projects for age-appropriate groups.
Are your workshops suitable for schools, home school groups, or summer camps?
Yes. We regularly run age-appropriate workshops for schools, home school groups, summer camps, and educational programs that combine science, sustainability, and creative making.
How long are the workshops and what’s included?
Most workshops run about 2 hours and include all materials, expert instruction, and the finished project to take home. We also offer themed, private, and custom workshop experiences.
Do you do private or group events?
Yes! We host private events for birthdays, corporate team building, bachelorettes, family gatherings, camps, community groups, and more. We’re happy to discuss custom experiences and themes.
How do I book a workshop?
