Sponsorship Tiers
Hive Friend
$5-50
Your support at this level helps to cover day-to-day care of the bees including pollen supplements, sugar water, and more.
As a Hive Friend, you will receive:
- Digital certificate of support
- Seasonal hive updates
- Name listed on our supporter page with the option to be anonymous or make your donation on behalf of someone else
Hive Guardian
$200
Your support at this level provides meaningful support for the care of a beehive through the year including day-to-day care and some beehive management.
As a Hive Guardian, you will receive:
- Everything in the Hive Friend level
- Invitation to one scheduled group educational hive session
- Jars of honey **
**Jars of honey are not guaranteed and depend on colony health and seasonal conditions.
Hive Steward
$900
Your support at this level significantly offsets the full annual cost of maintaining one beehive.
As Hive Steward, you will receive:
- Everything in the Hive Guardian level
- Sponsor’s name on a beehive for the season (your choice as long as it’s family friendly!)
- Personalized updates on your sponsored hive for the season
Please note we offer the sponsorships as an opportunity to support our beekeeping program. Sponsorships DO NOT include:
- Ownership of a hive
- Guaranteed honey
- Unlimited hive access
Frequently Asked Questions
How many hives are available for sponsorship?
We plan to support 2-4 hives this season depending on community sponsorship and our mentorship program.
Why is honey not guaranteed?
Honey is offered as a thank you when the bees produce a healthy surplus. We can’t guarantee bee health, weather, or forage conditions. The health of our colonies always comes first!
Do you offer hive visits?
We are not offering live hive visits this year, but may in the future. See below for information on the educational session we will be offering.
What is offered in the educational session?
Sponsors at the Hive Guardian level and higher will be invited to a group educational hive session at our shop where you will learn how a real hive works by interacting with real beekeeping equipment. All the fun, none of the bees!
As a sponsor, do I own the bees?
Sponsorships support the care and management of the bees, but does not confer ownership of bees, equipment, or land.
Is my sponsorship refundable?
Sponsorships are non-refundable after bees are ordered. If our program does not go forward this year, all sponsorships will be refunded.
Will the program change?
This is a pilot program and will likely evolve over time. If you have any suggestions, we’d be happy to hear them!
